The California Trail Users Coalition (CTUC) is seeking public review for our 2015/2016 California State OHV Grant Funding Proposal.
Each year the State of California makes funding available through the OHV Grants Program. The grants program provides financial assistance to eligible agencies and organizations (federal, city, county, nonprofit, etc.) that develop, expand, maintain, operate, support, or contribute to well-managed, high-quality, OHV recreation areas, roads and trails.
Once again the State of California has funds that are available for education, operation and maintenance, law enforcement and restoration projects. Four divisions of CTUC, Stewards of the Sequoia, Stewards of the Sierra National Forest, Stewards of the Stanislaus National Forest and the Central California Motorcycle Association will be submitting an OHV grant project application for funding to help improve the overall OHV experience and promote long term responsible OHV use.
As part of the application process, CTUC is requesting the public’s comment on our grant project proposal. The CTUC preliminary grant proposal will be made available March 8th on the on California Off Highway Motor Vehicle website at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/. Click on Grants, click on On-Line Grants Application (OLGA), click on Public Review instructions and Review Preliminary Applications located in light blue box on the left side of the page. Search for California Trail Users Coalition, then go to the Ground Operation and Restoration sections for project specifics.
The Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program allows for a thirty (30) day public review and comment period. This period provides an opportunity for the public to review the preliminary applications and provide comments to the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division for consideration during the current grant cycle.
The public comment period begins the first Tuesday following the first Monday in March through the first Monday in April.
