“Run Thru the Valley Toy Drive”
Benefiting Valley Children’s Hospital
December 3, 2016
Come join the Stewards of the Sierra National Forest to help with the 5th Annual “Run Thru the Valley Toy Drive” hosted by Valley 4xs 4 Children.
This event is to benefit the children who are receiving medical care at Valley Children's Hospital (VCH) in Madera California. VCH is the 2nd largest children's hospital in the Golden State. It services 11 counties in the Central Valley from the Bay Area in the north to the L.A. area in the south. VCH provides treatment to roughly 125,000 patients a year from the 1.3 million children that live here in the Central Valley area. That's about 1 in every 10 children.
Hard to believe that it all started over 60 years ago with 5 young mothers who dreamed of a hospital just for children.
To participate in this event, and help us to spread a little holiday cheer to the kids. We simply ask that you go to www.sotsnf.org to help the Stewards to purchase a VCH approved Red Radio Flyer All Terrain Wagon by the OCTOBER 31, 2016 DEADLINE (Click Here to Purchase Your Wagons). These wagons are used to transport the kids around the hospital and you can help to put a smile on the face of a child. There is no better feeling than to reach out and help a child in need.
The 5th Annual "Run Thru the Valley Toy Drive" is scheduled for December 3, 2016. We would like you to drive your "trail rigs" (a street legal 4-wheel drive vehicle) and have each person in your group bring a new unwrapped store bought gift to be donated to VCH. These donations will then be distributed at a later date to the children receiving treatment at VCH.
The event will begin in Bakersfield Ca. at 7:30 am at Mimi’s Café located at 4025 California St Bakersfield Ca. 93309 and head North up Highway 99. There will be 2 stops along the way to gather up additional folks and rigs at each stop.
The first stop will be in Visalia at 9:00 am at Plaza Park located at 700 S Plaza St Visalia Ca. 93277. The next stop will be in Fresno Ca. at 10:00 am at the Sportsmen’s Warehouse located at 8468 Friant Rd Fresno Ca. 93720.
From there all participants will drive to VCH to drop off all the donations they have gathered from throughout the valley. Once all the gifts are safely stored in VCH all participants are welcomed to join us for a BBQ lunch. Lunch will be a tri-tip sandwich, chips and a drink and will be held at North Pointe Church 4625 W Paolo Alto Ave Fresno Ca. 93722.
We will be hosting a raffle this year following the BBQ lunch for all the attendees. With generous donations from our many sponsors. We look forward to seeing each and every one of you at this very important event.
